Lineage BJJ® Youth Belt System: Minimum Requirements for Promotion
At Lineage BJJ®, we believe in nurturing our young martial artists with a rich foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We ensure that our students are well-prepared and that promotions are earned through genuine skill and dedication. In this article, we are focusing on the promotion requirements within our Lineage BJJ® Youth Belt System. This includes the minimum requirements and testing that our young practitioners must go through to earn their stripes and progress in their belts.
Minimum Requirements for Promotion
Attendance and Time: 20 classes and a minimum of two months for each promotion (stripe or belt).
Stripes: 4 stripes are awarded for each belt level.
Age Requirements: We adhere to the standard IBJJF age requirements for each belt level.
Testing: Students must pass basic testing for each solid belt color change. If a student fails a test, they may retest two weeks later. We do not charge for promotions nor do we have testing fees.
Certificates: Certificates will be awarded for each solid belt color promotion.
Behavior: Students may lose stripes/rank for misconduct during class (at the instructors’ discretion) or at home/off the mats (at parents’ discretion).
